40 mm steel round bar is large-section hot-rolled long product for highly critical parts. At almost 10 kg per metre, it provides blanks for heavy-duty shafts, flange hubs, lugs, and large forgings. A metre of this bar is already a substantial load, so it is usually purchased for a specific part rather than for general stock. Grades 20 and 45 are available for machining and hardening.
