⚙️ 18 mm steel round bar - torsion shafts, spindles, and levers
18 mm steel round bar is hot-rolled long product used to make components subject to substantial torsional loads. At 2 kg of steel per metre, this is more than a simple axle: it is a blank for a drive shaft, spindle, or heavy-duty lever. Steel grade is critical for these assemblies: grade 45 steel with hardening is used for cyclic torsion, rather than softer Ст3.
🏗️ Main applications:
- Torsion shafts: drive shafts, spindles, and mechanism torsion bars made from grade 45 steel.
- Heavy-duty levers and tie rods: components subject to increased bending and tensile loads.
- Wheel and drum axles: rotating parts for heavy machinery and equipment.
- Large M18 studs and anchors: critical threaded fasteners for support assemblies.
✅ Advantages of SteelStream products
We supply certified round bar in accordance with ДСТУ 4738 (the complete weight table and steel grades are available in the Technical documentation).
- Steel grade selection: Ст3 for welded supports and grade 45 for shafts subject to torsion and wear, supplied with a heat certificate.
- Accurate weight: exactly 2.000 kg per metre to the standard, or 500 m per tonne, making batch calculations straightforward.
- Ready for machining: a straight bar without twist, with a predictable machining allowance.
